the story of the beer clock
OK, it's not a retirement project, but, I didn't know where else to put this. Sometimes it's the little things that create a memory.
I made this clock for my father in-law a long time ago (I confess I don't remember exactly when but a long time ago is a good description). It hung on the wall in his house, downstairs, next to the refrigerator that contained the beer keg. After Leslie's parents passed away the house was listed and shortly thereafter there was an offer made by a Notre Dame graduate student. The contract with the offer had all of the usual listing of items to be included in the sale, refrigerator, washer, dryer, patio furniture, etc. And at the bottom of the list...

The tag on the shelf below the beer can (which you can't read in the picture) identifies the can above it as the "National Beer of Texas" and its held onto the shelf by an armadillo.
